Ministries
Bereavement Support Ministry
This is a Christ-centered support group organized in response to the needs of people grieving the death of a significant person/persons in their life. It runs for six weeks in the Fall and again in the Spring and includes a memorial service. Anyone who has lost a loved one and needs a caring person to be with them to help them through their grief and to move on with their lives, call Jeannie Srock at 724/586-7192.
Separated and Divorced Support Ministry
This group is designed to give that extra love, support and education to those who are going through hard times because of a separation or divorce. It is scheduled every Tuesday in the Parish Center at 7:00 p.m. For more information, call Joannie Soldner at the parish 724/482-22690 x 226.
Parish Health Ministry
The Health Ministry Program was developed to promote wellness of body, mind and soul. Our program is two-fold: wellness and education programs are provided by health professionals to meet the desires and concerns of our community. Eucharistic Ministers provide comfort spiritually as well as emotionally. Blood pressure screenings as well as flu shots are part of the ministry. Prayer Chain Ministry
The Christian Mothers and Women's Guild share their love and concern for others by extending their ministry of prayer to the entire parish. The names of the sick and hospitalized may be added to the prayer chain by calling Mary Ellen Cupps 724/482-2500 or Fran McConnell 724/789-9433. The names are published in the weekly bulletin.
Funeral Luncheons
The Funeral Luncheon in the parish hall is a hospitality extended to members of the parish. Funeral Prayer Ministries
Members of St. Fidelis meet at the funeral home to give support to the family through either a rosary or bible service. For information call Joannie Soldner at 724-482-2690, ext. 223.
Music Ministry
The Adult Choir enhances the liturgies on Sunday morning at the 10:30 am Mass. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. If interested in joining, please contact the Director of Music, Cookie Salak.
Welcoming Committee
New members of the parish are contacted by a committee member. A package of information about our church and its programs and ministries is mailed to the interested party. Contact is Mary Fleeson 724-482-2902.
Ushers
The main purpose of the ushers is to greet and welcome parishioners and visitors and to create a reverent atmosphere for prayer. If interested, contact Chuck Rodgers at 724-482-2973.
Ministers of the Eucharist
Ministers of the Eucharist are those men and women who are selected by the Pastor and approved by the Bishop of the Diocese for distribution of the Eucharist. The Eucharistic Ministers also are empowered to take the Eucharist to shut-ins. Contact: Joannie Soldner 724-482-2690
Lectors
This ministry is very important for it is the main way people hear the Word of God at Mass. For more information contact Deacon Toby 724-482-2690.
Altar Servers
Boys and girls four and up who are able to work with dignity and handle the objects of worship with reverence. To learn more contact Jenny Cygan at 724-482-9029.
Altar Society
The members of the Altar Society attend to the altar and the Sanctuary area of the church, keeping vestments, altar linens, sacred vessels and other appointments in order. Contact: Ellen Wehr, 724-482-2690.
Handyman for seniors
With a call to the parish, one of our parishioners is on his way with tools or a paintbrush to give our senior citizens a helping hand. If you need this service, call Joanniel at the office.
Respite Care Program
Caring and qualified volunteers are available to relieve our families who need relief from care-giving responsibilities for up to four hours a week., depending on the volunteers. For information, call Ethel at the office.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Everyone needs prayer when they are sick or down and out. This ministry prays over their handiwork as they knit or crochet shawls that will be blest by Father. Then the shawls are given to our sick, elderly or whoever is in need of one. The women meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the double class room of the Parish Center to work.
